February 2nd Newport on the Levee for the 2008 Polar Bear Plunge
On-line registration cut-off is Friday, February 1 at 4:00pm.
The Polar Bear Plunge is one of the biggest Special Olympics fundraisers of the year. The Plunge is a truly is unique event and inclues a fun festive atmosphere with food and great prizes. The Plunge works just like a Walk a Thon, but with one big twist. Participants still solicit donations to support their effort (a BARE minimum of $50 to take part), but instead of walking, Polar Bears take a chilly dip into a pool that will be set up on the plaza at Newport on the Levee.
Last year, the Polar Bear Plunge raised a record $65,000 to support the efforts of Special Olympics athletes in Kentucky and Ohio.
